We know there are many itinieraries available, but this is one fabulous itinerary that includes some of the best ports you will find on your cruise. This one is aboard the magnificent Azamara Quest, which carries about 700 lucky travelers to the mainlands of Greece (Nauplion) and Turkey (Istanbul and Bodrum), and to the islands of Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete.

Boarding: Piraeus (Athens), Greece. Today you have all day to explore Athens and snap some pictures of the famous Acropolis and Ancient Agora. You will be boarding the Quest at 6pm this evening.

Day 1: Nafplio (Mycenae/Corinth), Greece. "Two mountains, each crowned by a medieval fortress, overlook Nafplio and the small island citadel that once protected a harbor now lined with inviting restaurants, cafes, and small shops." For the history buffs, head to Epidaurus or Mycenae during your day in port.

Day 2: Chania, Crete, Greece. "On the northwest side of Crete rests the old Venetian port of Chania, the second largest city on the island." Today enjoy a stroll through the old city, hike the Samaria Gorge or just enjoy the day at a seaside café.

Day 3: Santorini, Greece. "Your daydream of a Greek island meets reality in Santorini - its whitewashed villages cling to cliff sides, and bright blue roofs reflect the sea and the sky." Today venture to Fira to explore the cobblestone lanes of the capital. Three options to get there are cable car, donkey or a flight of 600 steps! You have a full day in Santorini so don't be afraid to also check out the village of Oia for panoramic views that will blow you away.

Day 4: Mykonos, Greece. "Mykonos is living proof that picture postcard destinations do exist. Its many charms include its iconic windmills, fabulous beaches, and an irresistible traditional town with a maze of twisting streets and alleys originally designed to confuse marauding pirates. Dazzling sunlight reflects off of the whitewashed houses and hundreds of small chapels." Another full day at port allows you to experience the lively nightlife after a day of exploring Little Venice and the windmills.

Day 5: Kusahasi (Ephesus), Turkey. "Kusadasi is your port of access to an age-old civilization. Ephesus was once the second largest metropolitan area in the Roman Empire, eclipsed only by Rome herself." Today is another history lesson at the ruins of Ephesus. If history is not your thing then explore the Kusadasi Market for a lesson on carpet weaving.

Day 6: Kepez (Troy/Gallipoli), Turkey. Our second to last stop for a short day on dock you have the opportunity to explore the famous city of Troy (Helen of Troy), or for the tired you can enjoy a morning stroll along on the seafront promenade checking out local cafes and shops.
